Misty shade-grown coffee estate in monsoon rain

Shade-grown in Aldur, Chikkamagaluru

Coffee shaped by rain.

Ripe coffee cherries with raindrops beside pepper vines

01 — Our Story

An estate that listens to the monsoon.

High in the Western Ghats, near the village of Aldur, our coffee grows slowly beneath a canopy of silver oak, wrapped in black pepper vines. The shade keeps the soil cool and the cherries patient.

Each year the southwest monsoon rolls in over the hills, and for months the estate lives inside the rain. It is the rain that sets the rhythm here: when the plants flower, when the cherries ripen, when we pick.

“Around 1670, Baba Budan carried seven beans to these hills, and India's coffee began.”
